What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds induce your skin to make more collagen and elastin, which can help to improve your skin quality and look younger.
How does
Microneedling work?
Microneedling helps the skin to repair itself after it has encountered any physical damage like cuts, scars, or any other physical damage. When an injury occurs, your skin will destroy the old, damaged tissue that causes acne scarring and wrinkles and will replace it with fresh healthy skin. This treatment is best for all skin types and tones, especially for people who are facing problems like acne scarring, wrinkling, fine lines, and dilated pores.
Microneedling treats the full face for the skin rejuvenation, but it’s not restricted only to the face; it can also treat other areas of the body like the abdomen, legs, arms, and hands. It can safely treat all forms of scars like acne or surgery scars, abdominal scars, stretch marks, burn contracture scars and loose skin.
Why choose Dermapen skin needling over the surgical treatments?
There are several reasons you should consider:
#1
The Dermapen skin needling gives you rejuvenated and plumper skin with minimal discomfort, and very little downtime.
#2
In this therapy, disposable needles are used which eliminates the risk of cross-contamination.
#3
The depth of the needles is adjustable and this allows for a treatment customized to the patient’s needs.
#4
It can easily treat the hard to reach areas like around the nose, eyes, and lips.
#5
It is a controlled and consistent treatment that yields optimal results.

FAQ ABOUT
Microneedling
Treatment
Whether you choose microneedling for acne scars or other skin issues, you will notice that the skin appears bright and red following your session. For this reason, we do not recommend planning any significant events right after your appointment. Downtime varies from person to person, but generally, you may experience mild redness and mild swelling for about 24-48 hours after your treatment.
In PICO clinics, we offer you with the latest generation machine which will help you to spend less time but gain best results.
The area will be anaesthetised with a topical local anaesthetic and therefore should not be painful but you may have some discomfort.
To ensure proper healing, we encourage patients to observe the following instructions for at least 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid direct sunlight and exposure to harmful UV rays
- Do not go swimming or immerse your face in water
- Avoid strenuous exercise or any activities that promote sweating
- Do not apply make-up or lotions

This will depend on your cell renewal process, as this slows down as we age. In general it can take up to 8 weeks to see any results, however the regeneration process will continue over the following months giving a gradual enhancement.
This will be dependent on a number of factors including age, area being treated, skin condition and damage. In most cases it is usually a course of 3 to 6 treatments, generally spaced between 4 -5 weeks apart.
